Is a real champion, one who completes a marathon of 42.195km? Or, is it the challenges that they face along the way?
To me, the real champion, is the one that persists and forges on ahead despite the odds. The odds can be as simple as the weather, the number of people blocking their way ahead, or, any recurring or fresh injuries they picked up before or in the course of the marathon itself. Of course the people who walk cannot be blamed, because, they too soldier on in their own way, and that is by walking. Distance often do not matter or too much because what is important, is that by walking, they too will eventually reach the finishing, and that patience & perseverance will see them through.
The most amazing champions in a marathon, are those who are there despite being challenged in one way or another, those who soldier on despite injury until they reach their limit and stop running, those who persist to finish despite carrying injuries or some other problems which they might be facing. Very often in life, we tend to forget that in the course of our life marathon, it is not the end result that is important. The end result is to look forward so that there is an aiming point, but the more important one is the process and what one goes through and learns from it.
Right here, I would like to compliment each and every soldier in us that forges on ahead despite the difficulties & challenges in the life marathon. Your persistence & determination in life is something that is very much equal to running the full marathon of 42.195km, and that of course I would like to urge each and every one of us to continue persisting because persistence overcomes all our shortcomings. Your spirit is worth complimenting and learning from, because many of us may not know or have forgotten that it is persistence that drives on the world's most successful people to eventual success despite the various falls and challenges they have faced in life. Although we all come from different continents, countries, cultures, have different skin colours, speak different languages, but still I would like to take this chance to really salute you and the real soldier in you, whether you are male or female.
