What Is Your Choice?

No one will ever know how long it will take for a person to switch from the mindset of an employee to the mindset of a business owner. For some, it will be a short one, because they have either been previously in a conventional business with a certain degree of success, or because they already are in a conventional business, and thus will be better equipped with the mindset of a business owner to run another business.

Those who take longer (me in particular) will find that they might feel frustrated at times, but still I believe there is nothing in it that says we should give up at a time when such a transformation is going on. Instead, we should persist on in tough times because "tough times do not last, tough people do". In such times, learning should still go on. Those who give up, are because in tough times they do not see the finishing point or fail to recall their own dreams and goals in life. In business, "momentum" is the keyword, and not to forget "patience" & "peseverance".

So, with a lot of distractions & challenges ahead as you and me build our own businesses for our own individual dreams & goals, what will you choose? If you are thinking of giving up, think of what made you build your own business! Do not give up, let us all work hard together to fulfill our dreams & goals in life!

Last but not least, what triggered me to write this post (right now @ 2.45am Singapore time), actually came from a game (Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends) in which a character (Guan Ping) quoted after I completed a game using him: "It is so easy to give in to despair when the future seems closed. All you have to do is believe that you are powerless and lay down your weapon."

To me, my business and my dream, I will have to rephrase it as "It is so easy to give in to despair when the future seems closed. All you have to do is believe that you are powerless and give up on your dreams & goals in life, as well as the opportunity to fulfill them." To me, if I give up such a good chance to fulfill my dreams & goals in life, I will look back in agony, regret, and all the unhappy things that come from the inability to grab hold of a golden opportunity. What about you? I do not know about your dreams, but definitely if you give up a golden opportunity I do believe that you will feel something for it.

So, what is your choice? Patience & Peseverance, or Despair & Dispose? It is your choice, my friend (:

Hello All!

This is not my first post, but first I would like to bring attention, that there are really some nice links to pages that are really awesome.

Are you or anyone around you having health problems? Then it might be worth taking a look in Nutrition A to Z for the answers. The site is from my awesome friend Kenneth, do let him share what he knows with you!

Are you, or anyone interested in acquiring knowledge, that will lead you to success? Knowledge is potential power, but what knowledge is it that I am referring to? The site is done up by my best friend & brother of over a decade (12years on & counting to be exact), Kelvin! So it will be a good idea to pop by and grab some food for the brain in Success Philosophy!

The Vertical Alignment

"Bigger the struggle, sweeter the victory"

The month of December saw a decision being made. A decision between making a breakthrough in business and replacing the fridge at home. It was really hard, but in the end it had to come to a real crunch time. A blessing, will be to use the Vertical Alignment. What is the Vertical Alignment? it goes like this:

Spiritual Faith

Family

Job

Personal Business

The abovementioned shows the Vertical Alignment. A quick explanation: The Spiritual Faith is your own religion (whichever you believe in), Family is our own family, Job is the the current job we are holding, and Personal Business is whatever you have chosen to do. In the Vertical Alignment, it is very important that you get it right especially for the family part and job part. Why is this so?

The family is very important, because it is what we call "home". In it are our parents and siblings, and it is very important to be able to communicate effectively with our families about our dreams and why we are in business. If there is little or no communication, there might be challenges in that our family may not understand it and come to oppose what we are doing. If anything happens within the family, you might find it hard to stay in the business you have chosen to build. Hence the importance in having a peaceful and understanding family through communication and understanding on our own part, that they are important.

Next up, Job. We all know that we are building our businesses for freedom from our job, but why is it that still it is important? Because the pay from the job is required for survival when we build our businesses. It is what will pay our bills, meals and other daily expenses as we build our businesses. Without the paycheck a whole lot of other things will not have been made possible. Hence no matter how tired you are of your job because of the business you are building or investing in, it is still important to be able to get yourself out of bed and to work, because you should always remember that building a business for your freedom is one for the long term, and in the meanwhile still turn up for work as your business continues to grow. A disruption in employment may prove to be a distraction to the business you are building.

So in the end, what was my choice? Buying a new fridge, or a breakthrough in my business? You've got it, it was buying the new fridge! :)

"Bigger the struggle, sweeter the victory" was the opening line to this post, and if you have ready made success, will you treasure it? To me, I would think no, because it is only because of the challenges and struggles in between us and success that truly makes victory sweet to savour!

Some Quotes

"Bad habits are easy to form and hard to live with, but good habits are hard to form and easy to live with."

"Choice is more important than hard work."

"Everyone fails at times, and I myself am no exception. But, I cannot accept not trying."

"Take one coin from your wallet and invest it in your brain. It will eventually come to overflow your wallet."

Mentality, Good & Bad Times

In life, it is easy to overlook the fact that we have had more good than bad times. Why is that so? Because when we are going through the good times, the good times seems to pass by real fast. And when the bad times arrive, it just seems to take forever to get by. In those instances, all we have to do is just to adopt a change in mentality. Imagine your good times like a big circle, and the bad times are but a small little black spot in the big circle. Get the picture by now?

"There is no road too long for the man who advances deliberately and without undue haste; there are no honours too distant to the man who prepares himself for them with patience"

"If YOU know the road IS RIGHT, it does not matter how long the journey is, as long as YOU keep walking. Patience and perseverance IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS."

What Is A REAL Champion?

Is a real champion, one who completes a marathon of 42.195km? Or, is it the challenges that they face along the way?

To me, the real champion, is the one that persists and forges on ahead despite the odds. The odds can be as simple as the weather, the number of people blocking their way ahead, or, any recurring or fresh injuries they picked up before or in the course of the marathon itself. Of course the people who walk cannot be blamed, because, they too soldier on in their own way, and that is by walking. Distance often do not matter or too much because what is important, is that by walking, they too will eventually reach the finishing, and that patience & perseverance will see them through.

The most amazing champions in a marathon, are those who are there despite being challenged in one way or another, those who soldier on despite injury until they reach their limit and stop running, those who persist to finish despite carrying injuries or some other problems which they might be facing. Very often in life, we tend to forget that in the course of our life marathon, it is not the end result that is important. The end result is to look forward so that there is an aiming point, but the more important one is the process and what one goes through and learns from it.

Right here, I would like to compliment each and every soldier in us that forges on ahead despite the difficulties & challenges in the life marathon. Your persistence & determination in life is something that is very much equal to running the full marathon of 42.195km, and that of course I would like to urge each and every one of us to continue persisting because persistence overcomes all our shortcomings. Your spirit is worth complimenting and learning from, because many of us may not know or have forgotten that it is persistence that drives on the world's most successful people to eventual success despite the various falls and challenges they have faced in life. Although we all come from different continents, countries, cultures, have different skin colours, speak different languages, but still I would like to take this chance to really salute you and the real soldier in you, whether you are male or female.
